Hearts of Hope's three programs - Children’s Advocacy Center, Sexual Abuse Response Center and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners - each offer distinct services that are collaborative in the effort to assist child and adult survivors of sexual abuse and sexual assault. All programs strive to meet a combination of crucial objectives.
Summary of services:

Provide emotional support to all victims of sexual abuse and sexual assault.

Provide escort advocates who accompany victims of sexual abuse and sexual assault at the hospital and remain with them through the medical examination, evidence collection, and statement to law enforcement.

Provide a non-threatening environment for a forensic interview with the child to obtain a audio/video tape of the alleged statement of abuse.

Provide a 24-hour crisis line (233-RAPE or 233-7273).

Provide short-term crisis intervention counseling for survivors of sexual abuse and sexual assault; consists of 8 counseling sessions for survivors and their family.

Provide awareness education in schools and throughout the Acadiana area through information on rape/sexual abuse and its effects on victims, families.

Provide a neutral location for community agencies and professionals to meet for case coordination and case review.

Provide coordination and tracking efforts to a professional multidisciplinary team to increase the prosecution of offenders.

Provide compassionate and skillful nursing care to all victims in collaboration with designated emergency departments and law enforcement.

Provide specialized forensic exams and the evidence collection kits for victims of sexual assault.
